Scholars were asked "What does health equity mean to you?"
Health equity is a crucial undertaking that strives to dismantle structural barriers that hinder individuals from achieving their optimal health. Health equity emphasizes acknowledgement and progress: it necessitates an earnest acknowledgement of historical injustices that continue to pervade our contemporary frameworks, along with recognizing the need to create progress by means of actionable and measurable change.
This pursuit not only requires the reformation of health organizations and systems, but also a commitment to fostering growth within ourselves and our communities. Health equity should not merely be considered a perspective, but an achievable standard.
