HSI Alumni

For those who have earned or are working towards a four-year degree from a Hispanic Serving Institution in the United States.

Building on the success of the first cohort, eligibility for the Health Equity Scholars program expanded in 2022 to include students who have graduated from a Hispanic Serving Institution. This new cohort of students will bring an interest in the health issues that impact Latino and Hispanic communities. During their time at Brown, students will have the opportunity to collaborate with faculty on a variety of research and implementation projects.

Criteria for eligibility:

  • Be working toward or possess a four-year, postsecondary degree from a Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI)
  • Have a demonstrated interest in and commitment to improving the health of Latino and Hispanic communities, through research or practice
  • Have demonstrated leadership experience and potential
  • Candidates with two or more years of work experience are strongly encouraged to apply

The application deadline for the Health Equity Scholars Program is December 1. Applicants should apply through SOPHAS.
