The SOPHAS application includes specific questions that allow HBCU graduates, HSI graduates, and Rhode Island residents to self-identify and indicate interest in the Health Equity Scholars program. Earn your master of public health degree as a Health Equity Scholar

All applicants to the Brown MPH program apply through the SOPHAS portal. Applications are considered on an individual basis.

The SOPHAS application includes specific questions that allow HBCU graduates, HSI graduates, and Rhode Island residents to self-identify and indicate interest in the Health Equity Scholars program. If you meet the application criteria and would like to be considered for the HES program, please be sure to complete the relevant questions.

For those who have earned or are working towards a four-year degree from a recognized HBCU in the United States

For those who have earned or are working towards a four-year degree from a Hispanic Serving Institution in the United States.

For those committed to addressing the public health issues that impact our neighbors and local communities.

In addition, all HES applicants should address their interest in and commitment to health equity in the “Statement of Purpose'' section of the application. We strongly encourage applications from individuals with two or more years of work experience.
