The HES program welcomes the involvement of community leaders, public health professionals, and Brown alumni.

There are several ways to engage with the HES program and the Scholars:

  1. Become a mentor. The mentor network includes individuals who are paired with a Scholar and others who make themselves available for occasional advice, support, informational interviews, etc.
  2. Participate in a career panel. The HES program aims to expose the Scholars to a range of public health careers and pathways. Share your educational and professional journey with the HES cohort.
  3. Host a Scholar at your organization for an internship or Practicum.
  4. Donate to help ensure that the HES program can grow and continue to equip and support the next generation of public health leadership.

Being able to attend Brown University without a huge financial burden has allowed me to focus intently on my coursework, research, and future career goals. Being able to conduct research at the intersection of clinical medicine and public health has been one of the best parts of the program. I can see the synergy between the two fields and how my public health training will prepare me to tackle the field of medicine when the time comes.
