Biography
Scholars were asked "What does health equity mean to you?"
Health equity to me means being able to access all health information and resources that can help you improve and maintain your physical and mental health regardless of your race, ethnicity, education level, and socioeconomic status. It means everyone is able to access treatments, medications, research, and tests without financial burden or stigma. Health equity to me is not synonymous with equality because unfortunately, some groups are disproportionately vulnerable to certain illnesses. Therefore, health equity would mean advocating for these vulnerable groups and allocating the necessary resources to help combat the health disparities that affect their communities.
