Biography
Scholars were asked "What does health equity mean to you?"
Health Equity, to me, means tackling the barriers that prevent all individuals from receiving or accessing the quality care they need. I would emphasize the importance of giving people what they need to live a healthy life and know that will look different for each person. It also means ensuring we use equitable, sustainable practices, ones that satisfy the needs of those who live today and do not compromise the needs of our future generations. When we invest in equitable health, we are making social and economic investments in our communities, and when we do this - we create sustainable communities.
